The Work You Can’t Yet See

Waiting is rarely easy.

Whether you’re waiting for healing, an answered prayer, a new opportunity, reconciliation, or simply a change in your circumstances, the waiting can feel long. It can leave us wondering if God has forgotten us or if our prayers have gone unheard.

But what if waiting isn’t a pause in God’s plan?

What if it’s part of it?

Some of the greatest lessons of faith aren’t learned after the breakthrough—they’re learned while we’re waiting for it. Waiting has a way of teaching us patience, deepening our dependence on God, and reminding us that our hope isn’t found in an outcome but in Him.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31

Notice that this promise doesn’t say we’ll never have to wait. It says that while we place our hope in the Lord, He renews our strength.

Maybe today you’re wondering when God will answer the prayer you’ve been carrying for weeks, months, or even years. While you wait, don’t overlook the quiet ways He’s working. He may be strengthening your faith, preparing your heart, opening a door you can’t yet see, or protecting you from something you don’t yet understand.

God is never late.

His timing may not always match ours, but His timing is always purposeful.

Today’s Prayer

Father,

Waiting can be difficult, especially when I don’t understand why things are taking so long. Help me to trust that You are working even when I cannot see it. Teach me to wait with hope instead of fear, with peace instead of frustration, and with confidence that Your timing is always good.

Amen.
